Frans Duynstee (1960) is a partner of Taxand Netherlands where he specialises in tax litigation and private clients. Frans acts as trusted adviser for larger family owned enterprises and high net worth individuals. He is admitted to the Amsterdam bar and litigates frequently in tax matters. He was lead counsel in a landmark gaming tax case in which the Dutch High Court ruled that the Dutch gaming and betting tax act is against EU law.

His past experience includes a board membership of the stock quoted Dordtsche Petroleum-Industrie Maatschappij, at that time by far the largest shareholder of Royal Dutch Shell. Furthermore he is a past president of the Advisory Committee Tax Law of the Dutch Bar, former co-chair of the International Tax Committee of the American Bar Association/Section of International Law and former president of the International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA).
